Ésta es una de las buenas cosas de internet: cuando alguien comparte generosamente su trabajo para que nos podamos inspirar y hacerlo nuestro. Esta oficina fue armada para Mozilla Japón por el estudio de diseño Nosigner. Usaron materiales simple, baratos y básicos en el diseño de muebles útiles, que van a resistir bien el paso del tiempo. Siguiendo el concepto de Mozilla de compartir los recursos, decidieron dejar disponible en su sitio web los planos e indicaciones que usaron en el diseño del mobiliario y el suelo pensado para esconder cables, incluso también cómo colgar divisores de espacio y la tipografía que usaron. Así que, si están pensando en armar un espacio de trabajo, para su casa o en cualquier lugar, vayan a la página del proyecto y descarguen los archivos que han dispuesto para compartir en PDF. Gran hallazgo!!

   This is one of the great things of the Internet: when someone generously shares his work so we can inspire and make it our own. This office was made for Mozilla Japan by Nosigner design studio. They used simple, basic and budget materials in a useful furniture design that will withstand the test of time. Following Mozilla's concept of open resources, they decided to make available on their website all blue prints and indications used in the design of furniture and flooring intended to hide wires, even how to hang space dividers and also typography used. So if you are thinking of putting together a work space for your home or anywhere, go to the project page and download the files that they have to share in PDF. Great find!!

   ¿Se han dado tiempo para buscar dónde y con qué cosas a su alrededor trabajan mejor? Donde sea que tengamos nuestro lugar de trabajo -en la oficina, en la casa, como profesores o alumnos-, en ese momento en que nos sentamos a madurar una idea y hacerla un fruto necesitamos estar en el lugar que nos haga más eficientes, concentrados y creativos. Si no estamos cómodos hay que arreglar las cosas como podamos, cambiar de lugar algo, acompañarnos de quienes queremos en fotos, tener a mano nuestras fuentes de inspiración. Yo me conozco y tengo este escritorio donde están mis cachureos y el cargador:

   Have you give yourself some time to think about where and surrounded by what do you work better? Wherever we work from -at the office, at home, as teachers or students-, that moment in which we sit to ponder an idea and take something out of it is the one when we need a place that help us to be efficient, focused and creative. If we are not comfortable we must fix things in any way we can, change something from it's place, bring who we love for support in some photos, keep our sources of inspiration nearby.    Pero donde impajaritablemente terminamos todos, acompañados, trabajando, preguntándonos, en un silencio relativo y en absoluto brainstorming es donde mejor nos resulta, en la mesa del comedor!

   Esto más que novedad es un recordatorio, porque es un invento de 2005 que vale la pena usar. Si eres de los que prefiere tener la lista del supermercado en un papel, o la agenda para escribir a mano, pero te gustaría que fuera más chica, para ponerla en la billetera o en un bolsillo, entonces visita PocketMod y haz la tuya a medida. En Pocket Mod armas una hoja A4 para imprimir, con ocho caras en las que puedes poner líneas, listas, días de la semana, meses, hasta pauta para componer, después la doblas y recortas según las instrucciones y te queda un pequeño librito para el bolsillo, Genial!

   More than an announcement, this is a reminder, this is something that went out in 2005, but it's worth using. If you are among those who like their paper shopping list, or like to write your own calendar notes by hand, but you wish you could put them in the wallet or pocket, then visit PocketMod and make your custom booklet.. You can arrange an A4 sheet with 8 pages with lines, days, weeks, to do lists or even music lines, then fold and cut is as directed to make a little pocket book. Cool!

   I love sitting in my desk and write a note on a nice paper. It can be for a gift, to say thank you or just a reminder, but everything is better when paper is cute, you even get happy.    Un dato para los que solemos escribir y a veces queremos poner una figura y no logramos dar con ella. Evítense frustraciones, pérdidas de tiempo y rabias visitando copypastecharacter, lo copian, lo pegan y ya está!! Denme las gracias....De nada! Ja!

   El celeste es el color de la calma. Todo lo apacigua, se lleva bien con la luz. Es amigo del amarillo, del rojo, del coral, también del gris, verde o del chocolate. Si quieres un color para tu pared, que sea celeste. Si quieres celeste, que no te cueste!

  Pale blue is the color of calm. It appeases everything, and is a friend of light. It goes along with yellow, red, coral, with gray, green and chocolate too. If you want a color for your wall, let it be pale blue!

   Entramos a la parte final del año, donde el calor nos distrae y las vistas hacia afuera nos llaman a escaparnos al jardín. Si eso nos pasa a nosotros, mucho más a los niños, y peor a los míos, que ven cómo los primos los miran desde la casa del al lado e inventan cualquier cosa para terminar (o no hacer) las tareas y partir a jugar. Un invento recurrente es: "esque no encontré el lápiz, mamá, me lo sacaron". Ja! Pero encontré una solución propia de fin de año, para juntar todos los restos de lápices y que siempre haya de todos los colores, ya sea grafito, cera, pasta, escripto, lo que sea con tal de que terminen esa tarea: Un pack de botellas transformado en lapicero con las familias de colores. Las instrucciones más adelante!

   We are facing the last part of our school year here, when heat distract us and sights outside the window call us to scape to the garden. If that can happen to us, imagine to the kids, and worst to mine, who can see their cousins looking at them from next door, waiting to play. So they make up many stories to finnish (or simply not to make) homework and run to play. A usual excuse is: "I couldn't find that pencil, mom, someone took it" Ha! But I found a charming solution for this part of the year, to collect every pencil and always have them handy, graphite, crayons, pens, wax, you name it, whatever it takes to finish that homework: A bottle pack turned into a pencil holder with all color families in it. Instructions ahead!

   Tomé mi cartera para llevarla donde correspondía y por una rendija pude ver el espantoso revoltijo que puede ser la cartera de una mamá de cuatro. Espantoso. Una cantidad de pañales, boletas, comunicaciones del colegio, papeles del seguro y artefactos que no me dejan encontrar adentro lo que necesito. Así que decidí tomar cartas en el asunto y fabricarme una carpeta de papeles importantes para la cartera. Al más puro estilo de things organized neatly, sitio imperdible, les muestro como escandinivicé (jajá!) mi cartera y cómo lo pueden hacer ustedes también.

  I took my purse to take it where it belongs and I took a glimpse to the mess that was inside, as bad as can be for a mother of four. Horrible. An unbearable amount of diapers, receipts, school memos, insurance papers and gadgets that don't allow me to find what I need from inside. So I decided to take matters into it and make an important paper's binder for our purse. Just like on things organized neatly, a must-see site, I'm showing you how I turn my purse scandinavian (haha!) and how you can do it too.

   Me gusta usar herramientas. Es más, me gustaría tener más tiempo para maestrear. Soy experta en arreglar mis muebles y cuanta pana hay en la casa. Por eso cuando me cruzo con algún proyecto entretenido que implique terminar con las manos martilladas o pintadas, lo guardo. Ahora se nos acercan varias fechas importantes, así que quiero hacer esta pizarra de cuenta regresiva. Si pinchan la foto van a ir al tutorial, está en inglés y es una forma muy profesional y perfecta de hacerlo, con sellantes, dos tipos de pinturas y todo. Si me preguntan, lo haría más simple, como les voy a contar a continuación. Si alguien sabe dónde puedo conseguir letras vinílicas me ahorraría harto trabajo!

   I love using tools. Even more, I would like to have more time to be a handygirl. I'm an expert fixing furniture or whatever needs repair at  home. That's why when I come across some fun project, which could leave me with hammered or painted hands, I save it for later.  We are approaching some big dates for us, so I want to make this countdown chalkboard. If you click the picture, you will go to the tutorial, which is very pro and perfect, with sealant, two kinds of paint and everything. If you ask me, I would do it in a much simpler way, as I'm telling you ahead. Btw, if anyone knows where can I find vinilic letters it would save me quite some work!

   Me gusta poner de fondo de pantalla del computador algún calendario bonito. Tengo mis lugares donde buscarlos, pero este mes me topé con uno precioso de la ilustradora Geninne D. Zlatkis. Ella vive en México y tiene un blog lleno de fotos lindas, una tienda en Etsy y otra en Big Cartel con sus cosas, pero yo me había enamorado desde antes de una de ellas sin saberlo, unas notitas con pegamento con unos pajaritos de colores maravillosos en Anthopologie. Les dejo el calendario para que lo usen como yo.

   I like to use a nice calendar as desktop in my computer. I have my places to look for them, but this month I came across a gorgeous one from illustrator Geninne D. Zlatkis. She lives in Mexico and has a blog filled with beautiful photos, an Etsy shop and a Big Cartel shop to share her work, but I had already fallen in love with one without knowing, some sticky notes with whimsical colored birds on them from Anthopologie. I'm leaving you the calendar, use it as I do.
