¡Hay muchos eventos esta semana! Sobre todo dos impostergables: el día del papá este domingo y el mundial de fútbol que empieza hoy!! No soy muy hincha, de hecho cuando hay partido de la selección encuentro que es el mejor momento para salir a hacer trámites, jaja! Pero está claro que los dos eventos se cruzan en la mayoría de las casas, con papás que van a tener ojos para poco más que el esférico. Así que por qué nos juntarlos: si no puedes contra ellos, úneteles!    There are many events this week! Especially two unpostponable: Father's Day this Sunday and the World Cup which starts today! I'm not quite into it, in fact when there are games on , I find that is the best time to go on errands, haha! But it's clear that the two events intersect at most homes, with dads who will have eyes for little more than the ball. So why don't we put them together: if you can't beat them, join them!    Así armamos el regalo; cortamos los cupones, los unimos. Luego cortamos el sobre, lo doblamos por las líneas punteadas, escribimos una tarjeta, lo cerramos y lo llenamos de besos. ¡¡Feliz día papá!!

   This is how we made the gift; cut our coupons, joined them. Then we cut the envelope, folded along the dotted lines, wrote the card, we closed it and filled it with kisses. Happy day dad!!

     ¡Este domingo toca celebrar a las que somos mamás! Damos gracias por todos los esfuerzos y actos de generosidad que significa ser mamá, lo aprendimos de la nuestra, también en la práctica y esperamos enseñarles a nuestras hijas a ser las mejores. En verdad uno sabe que es un día como cualquiera, quizás uno espera un desayuno rico, más abrazos de lo común y sobre todo ver la cara de los más chicos cuando abrimos los regalos divertidos que nos hicieron con sus manos. El regalo no importa mucho, su expresión con los ojitos brillantes es el regalo!! Pero ése es un secreto que sólo nosotras sabemos, cierto? 

   This Sunday we celebrate us moms! We give thanks for all those efforts and acts of generosity that means being a mom, how we learned from ours, by practice and how we hope teach our daughters to be the best ones. Really, we know it's a day like any other, perhaps one could expect a nice breakfast, more hugs than usual but especially to see the face of the little ones when we open their funny gifts, that they made with their hands. The gift doesn't matter much, their expression with bright eyes is the gift! But that's a secret that only we get to know, right?

   Tenemos tarjetas lindas y entretenidas este año, para que las puedan descargar e imprimir. Pueden escribirle a su mamá cuánto la quieren o quizás puede ser una buena idea escribir algún recuerdo lindo que tengan de la infancia. Feliz día Mamá! / Happy Mother's Day!

   Yo sé que en  muchos países es una tradición vigente, pero acá en Chile la hemos perdido, probablemente porque se transformó en una obligación de trabajo y el correo se puso más caro. Pero era tan lindo mandar y recibir tarjetas con los saludos de los amigos y familia! Hoy siguen existiendo las clásicas tarjetas para comprar y mandar en papel, pero hoy les traigo algunas aplicaciones para ir pensando en volver a las tarjetas de Navidad, aunque sea en formato digital. 

   I know that in many countries is a current tradition, but here in Chile we have lost it, probably because it became a work related obligation and postal mail became more expensive. But it was so nice to send and receive cards with greetings from friends and family! Today we can still find the classic paper ones to buy and send, but today I'm showing you some apps to go back to Christmas cards, even if it is on digital format.

  ¿Les ha pasado a veces que les cuesta que los niños estén contentos en la casa para las vacaciones? Sobre todo pasa con las de invierno, en que el trabajo de los papás sigue y hace mucho frío afuera como para salir a cualquier parte. Si tienen niños entre 3 y 10 años "la rutina" es una tremenda solución. La rutina consiste en planificar el día en la mañana con los niños, fijando distintas actividades, algunas que son obligación y otras entretenidas que ellos mismos eligen. Así saben desde el principio lo que van a hacer y eso hace que estén mucho más tranquilos y felices, esperando lo que más les gusta hacer. Les gustan las cosas claras, les dan seguridad. Además hacen con más gusto lo que no quieren (como ordenar) porque saben que sólo si lo cumplen pueden seguir con su día. Entre medio podemos darles sorpresas, que les van a parecer todavía más buenas! Y el factor aventura podemos vivirlo todos el fin de semana.

   Has it happen to you to find it hard keeping the kids happy at home for the holidays? Especially happens with winter break, when parents are at work and it is very cold outside to go anywhere. If you have children between 3 and 10 years "the routine" is a terrific solution. The routine is to plan the day in the morning with the kids, setting different activities, some of which are obligations and other are fun things they can choose. So from the beginning they know what to do and that makes them much more relaxed and happy, waiting for what they like to do. They want things clear, that way they feel safe. They also do what they don't like (such as tiding up) because they know they can reach what they do like keeping up with their day. In between we can give them surprises that are going to look even more good! And the adventure factor can reach us during the weekend.
