   Es la flor de Escocia. Debe ser porque se ve agreste y preciosa, como esa tierra. Parece que no quiere que nos acerquemos, pero esa explosión de color que le nace del centro hace que sea irresistible. Hay de muchas variedades, incluso la alcachofa es una de ellas, si la dejamos florecer su centro es de un índigo intenso. Y ahora es la flor que viene, está de temporada, así que si andan por el campo, o pasan por un terreno baldío, miren con atención y van a encontrar. Córtenlas con un cuchillo, las amarran y las dejan colgando hacia abajo en un closet oscuro por una semana y la van a poder admirar durante todo el año en su casa, sin que pierda sus colores. Con ustedes, el cardo:

   Sin duda cuando el paquete que recibimos es lindo, el regalo nos parece mucho mejor. Es el momento para empezar a pensar cómo vamos a envolver esas cosas que hemos buscado con cariño para los demás, por eso acá les dejamos algunas ideas que encontramos dando vueltas. 

   Tenemos que tomar una base neutra y ponernos creativos encima con cintas, timbres, tintas, plumas, masking tape, cordeles y sobre todo con el toque personal que da la letra de nuestra mono. El rojo es el rey de la Pascua cada año, ahora se acompaña del blanco y del celeste también. El verde sale directo del jardín, en ramitas de pino, de romero u hojas pasadas por hilos. El gris quiere venir con los colores pasteles y el neón es ideal para los regalos de niños.

   We can take a neutral base and get creative over it with ribbons, stamps, inks, feathers, masking tape, twine and especially with the personal touch that gives our own handwriting. Red is the king of Christmas  each year, now comes with white and light blue too. Green comes direct from garden, with pine sprigs, rosemary branches or leaves passed over threads. Gray will come with pastels and neon colors are ideal for children's gifts.

   Es una planta, pero se reproduce por esporas. Hay más de 24.000 tipos, se ha adaptado a todos los climas del planeta, pero hay dos cosas que tiene muy claras: necesita humedad y no le gusta el sol directo. Ahora hemos visto aparecer el musgo en muchísimas partes, su color entrega naturaleza y calidez a los ambientes, es suficientemente neutro como para ir con todo. Se está integrando a la arquitectura y al paisajismo, sobre todo en jardines verticales, porque es aislante y hace de contención. Pero también está en muchísimos accesorios, en forma de pelota, hay collares, adornos, maceteros, terrarios, para poner la mesa y más. Son muy llamativas y lindas las bolas de musgo que sirven para cultivar plantas colgantes, en la técnica japonesa del kokedama. Hay que formar un recipiente redondo con él, poner la planta dentro y rociar todos los días la bola con agua. También son preciosas las bolas de musgo sumergidas en agua, que se cambia cada cierto tiempo. Y si quieren hacer algo especial, busquen una pared sin sol y de superficie porosa (ladrillos o cemento disparejo) y hagan ustedes mismos su graffiti de musgo, abajo salen las instrucciones. No se olviden de buscar un rociador y de mojarlo todos los días con él. Bien lógico incluir el musgo en la decoración de navidad acá en el hemisferio sur, da la frescura de la primavera y el verano, en vez de tanta nieve que no nos toca, cierto? Un dato: el musgo artificial se ve bastante real....jaja!

   It is a plant, but it's reproduced by spores. There are over 24,000 types, it has adapted to every climate on the planet, but there are two things that it has very clear: needs humidity and doesn't like direct sunlight. Now we have seen moss appear in many places, it's color delivers nature and warmth to the atmospheres and is neutral enough to go with everything. It's being integrated into architecture and landscaping, especially in vertical gardens, because it's a good source of containment and isolation. But we can also find it on many accessories, specially ball shaped, into necklaces, ornaments, planters, terrariums, for setting the table and more. There are some very appealing and beautiful moss balls used to grow plants hanging, in the Japanese technique of kokedama. We must form a round container with it, put the plant in and spray the ball every day with water. There also are beautiful moss balls immersed in water, which is changed periodically. And if you want to do something special, find a sunless wall and of porous surface (bricks or uneven cement) and make your own moss graffiti, I'm leaving the instructions below. Don't forget to look for a spray bottle and moisten it every day. One thing: artificial moss looks pretty real .... haha!
